Born and Raised in Hyderabad, India to P. V. Ramana and P. Auxilium High School in Hyderabad and St. Ann's College for Women in Hyderabad is where PV Sindhu received her formal education from. Pullela Gopichand, the 2001 All England Open champion in badminton, served as Sindhu's main source of motivation and inspiration.Sindhu achieved success after entering Gopichand's badminton academy. She won the pairs championship at the fifth Servo All India ranking for the under-10 age group as well as the singles title at the prestigious Ambuja Cement All India ranking.

PV Sindhu's biography is interesting one. she was only 14 years old when she joined the international circuit.. At the 2009 Sub-Junior Asian Badminton Championships in Colombo, she took home a bronze medal and made everyone proud. The 2010 Iran Fair International Badminton Challenge, is where Sindhu took home a silver medal. She competed at the 2010 BWF World Junior Championships in Mexico, however she was defeated by a Chinese opponent there.

P.V. Sindhu also competed in Srinagar's 77th Senior National Badminton Championships. She had suffered a knee injury in the China Open, which she carried into the Japan Open and the nationals. Since she did not want to worsen her injury,she made the decision to not compete at the World Junior Championships.  After losing in the final to Indonesia's Lindaweni Fanetri in three games, she came second at the Syed Modi India Grand Prix Gold competition held in Lucknow in December.

In the second round of the Asian Championships, Sindhu defeated Wang Shixian of China in three incredibly difficult games and made it to the quarterfinals, where she was defeated by Eriko Hirose of Japan. She attained her 15th-best rating of her career. She defeated Singaporean Gu Juan for the Malaysian Grand Prix Gold, winning 21-17, 17-21, and 21-19. This turned out to be her first Grand Prix Gold victory.

She won a bronze and defeated Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan in the quarterfinal to win her first medal at the Asian Championships..She competed at the 2014 Commonwealth games but lost to eventual gold medalist,Michelle Li of Canada. She subsequently defeated Malaysian Tee Jing Yi to win the bronze medal. She took the role of the Krishna District's Deputy Collector at the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) office of the Andhra Pradesh government's Revenue Department in August.

PV Sindhu added another feather to her cap as she won her second consecutive Olympic medal—a bronze at Tokyo 2020—being the first Indian woman to do so after becoming the first to win a silver at the Olympics and a gold at the BWF World Championships.

PV Sindhu Awards and Honours 

The Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, was most recently given to Sindhu in 2021 for her bronze medal-winning performance at Tokyo 2020. She became the first woman from India to win two medals in the Olympics.

The Arjuna Award, India's second-highest athletic honour, was given to PV Sindhu in 2013 when she became the first Indian woman to win a medal in a world tournament.She also received the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna , India's highest athletic honour, for her performance at the Olympics. The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) awarded PV Sindhu the Sportswoman of the Year in 2019 and her list of honours continues to grow.
